General Conference Time! April 1-2, 2017

AND before we even knew it, it was one of my favorites times of the year again----- General Conference time!!!  I truly am so so thankful for a modern day prophet and apostles, who speak to us in our time and help guide us and inspire us with the teachings, encouragement and counsel the Lord would have us know.  I always feel so uplifted, strengthened, and spiritually re-energized after this special weekend!! Here are some pics of our family traditions!

I made this cool board a few years back for a Relief Society Conference Prep Display and I am so glad I did, even though it took a few grueling days of cutting, printing and adhering the pieces with contact paper and laminating...BUT the kids stick the topics the speakers are talking about in the bubble while they speak and my older ones who can write notes for themselves can use the topic cards to help them spell out words in their messages!

In addition to playing Conference Bingo and scoring with jellybeans this year, I was so touched to see Katelyn and Nathan so diligently trying to make their own notes for each speaker in their own General Conference Journals too! (haha....just like mom, hehe.....I remember things SOOO much better when I write them down and draw pictures and arrows around my writings in all sorts of different colors, I guess I am just a more visual and tactile learner like that! ha! But, I am so glad to be passing that study and learning habit on)....sure love these kiddos!!

And suger cube temples....yes, haha....we completely let the kids do these on their own...for the most part at least.  I generally draw a square shape for them on the plate to follow, but otherwise they build and stack with frosting themselves!! The kids sure love these each year, because it means getting to lick off lots of leftover frosting bits from their fingers! haha.  I love that it helps to keep us focused on the temple, where we know families can be sealed together forever!! What a special and wonderful place! We loved Conference and hearing such inspiring and encouraging messages!
