After our family trip, we had Daddy give the kiddos Father’s Blessings to start off the school year, a family tradition which comes with much needed encouragement, reassurance and guidance. We said goodbye to Daddy and with our incredible amounts of luggage—-me essentially trying to bring my homeschool material/classroom on wheels to WA—with clothes for all seasons (summer, fall and winter) haha. But, somehow we fit it all in the van and once again somehow home to the house in WA. 😳🤣🤗
The first week or so we got ourselves settled-in in Washington while we were living with Grandpa and Grandma Ralph and Uncle Samuel. This was such a HUGE blessing for our family and we are so thankful for their generosity and kindness in helping to make happen <3.
Then for one of the first weekends we were there, we ventured over to Puyallup for the WA State Fair with Aunt Rebekah and Grandpa!! The kids had a blast meeting Batman and with these superhero photo props.....petting farm animals, racing tractors, watching the Wild West show, wielding away at wood logs, and riding bumper cars and rides! We tried an elephant ear scones with strawberry sauce and a yummy Carmel apple with sprinkles!! Thanks Grandpa and Aunt Bekah for taking the time to take us and share so many fun memories together!!
Katelyn- 9 years old
The super soft bunny was probably her favorite!!
Superhero Gracie- 4 years old riding the tractor!! Hehe. 😄
Nathan- 6 years old, super speed on the green one!
We sure love Aunt Rebekah!!
We were inspired once we experienced the WA state fair to go home and make our own Carmel apples for Family Home Evening! A special thanks to Aunt Bekah for getting the supplies and surprising us with the resources to make them!! They were super delicious except for the ones that turned solid rock hard from being overly heated. What a fun experiment and adventure!
We were thankful for the chance we had to come live with grandpa and grandma while our home was being built and for their incredible hospitality and kindness in letting us come!! I know we brought lots of energy and a little bit of craziness, but it was a huge blessing for us to be able to resume our normal homeschooling life and daily routine, even music class, and extracurriculars including gymnastics, ballet and swim class.... at our temporary home away from home. <3. Here we are celebrating the start of a new school year and our first official week of getting back on track with homeschool.
Miss Katelyn- 8 years old, starting 3rd grade!!
Nathan-man- 6 years old, starting 1st grade!
Gracie- 4 years old, continuing with our home preschool!
AND Joshy- 1 yr old, being the best and cutest little sidekick around, starting another fun year of toddler life!!
We were thankful for the resources we collected before going to WA, so we could still work on our Classical Conversations Memory Work and topics through library books, listening to the history songs, our morning devotional, scripture time and chapter book reading Farmer Boy together! Woo hoo for another school year aboutbto begin!!
