This was such a special, long-awaited day for our sweet K! Daddy and K worked hard on finding a handful of family names, descendants from Jon’s mom’s Grandma Pearl, about five generations down of one of her nephews/nieces. Katelyn was beaming with joy and knew it was such a special time for those she was able to be baptized for. It was a treat that one K’s friends’ (Hayley’s) Dad was working at the temple and welcomed her in with warmth and kindness when we got to the front desk and he led us into the baptistry. It was nice to have Aunt Rebekah there as a treat too to share in the memories of the special day. It was super rainy all morning, but we were thankful the clouds parted for some clear skies sunshine for an hour or so on our way to the temple! The heavens were smiling down upon us and we are so proud of Katelyn’s hard work and preparation for this special day!

January 2021
We started this decade off with lots of world brightening smiles!! Amidst all the turmoil with the COVID-19 pandemic, political unrest, and social instability going on in America these days, we found our sense of hope and comfort in putting our trust in the Lord and spending time with family! We went ice skating for my sisters 30th birthday and picked up our first big family pet, a bunny, named Peppermint “Bunny Hop (according to Makenzie)” Sniffles.
We’ve continued to enjoy homeschooling, although we have missed having go to neighborhood friends, we’ve spent fun memories with cousins, and ventured to the Rec Center for Ezra and Aunt Sarah Gordon’s birthdays and then again with a homeschool group to meet new friends! The kids have enjoyed Daddy taking them on sledding rides behind the 4-wheeler, playing card games, doing science experiments and some Nintendo switch we just got the family for CHristmas with help from grandparents. We have loved watching Hyrum’s smile light up our world, the sweet siblings doting on him any chance they can and trying to get him to giggle! Incy Wincy Spider and Squishing his cheeks seem to be the most reliable ways to get him to laugh! Katelyn also started volleyball again and Nathan is now playing basketball for his first time!! Makenzie, Mom, Dad, Joshy and Gracie are their biggest fans! Katelyn even won a t-shirt for being the 2nd fastest person to serve five serves in a row after a recent Vball game. Way to go adventure girl Kate!! Love family time!

January 2020 Readers Group, Home Projects, Rock Climbing, Peek-a-boo and sweet moments!
We read The One and Only Ivan for readers group this month and had a great times gathering with homeschool friends learning about bridges, learning to draw gorillas, and making Mathitats using area and perimeter to figure out how large of habitats we would need to enclose wild animals comfortably.
Super fun times!

Building our own stone garden bordering! Yay for my handsome handyman.
A garage make-over with homemade workbench and storage systems.
Rock climbing fun
Aunt Kadi’s little pet snake!
Mathitats!
This boy is such a brave and strong climber! He made it to the top of a super hard wall. He is super determined and fearless like his big siblings!

Climbing with friends!
Date night with the two of us!! Love this other half of mine! He encourages me even when I need to go slow or take a moment to recover my strength to go on and would be patient with me all along the way! He still amazes me with his speedy strong climbing skills too!
Peek-a-boo!
