To finish the year of with some more family time, since our time with Daddy these days was often limited with his MBA classes three nights a week, calling and everyday keeping up with his full-time work load, we decided to take a road trip to Houston, use some of Daddy's work hotel points and maximize some of our museum reciprocity benefits to other cities children's museums and visit the Houston Space Center!!
The Houston Children's Museum was full of creative, hands on, scientific and learning exhibits for kids of all ages and how fun it was to explore together with Daddy too!
The pulley system exhibit and water works!
The next day, we woke up and headed to The Houston Space Center, one of NASA's headquarters! We were all really excited to see what we could learn and see!
Our tour tram where we ventured out to see the Saturn V rocket, some engineering and training facilities for astronauts and more!
We learned so much about what life is like on the International Space Station, got to hear and meet a real astronaut, Mr. Anderson speak to us about what his space travels were like, tour a NASA space shuttle, watch some fun combustion experiments, enjoy some hands on exhibits of what it would be like to be a real astronaut, and see a video about the potential for NASA's next voyage destination, Mars! It was so neat getting to learn about outer space, the Apollo missions, and seeing the actual Saturn V rocket launcher in its massive, incredibly breathtaking entirety!! How crazy is that....that those GINORMOUS ENGINES can power something so HEAVY (with JUST each engine weighing in at 15,600 pounds each!!) and the space shuttle equipment out of the earth's atmosphere, thousands of miles into SPACE!!!
The best part was just being together, exploring together and getting to learn some really fascinating new things about Space and NASA missions together! Sure love those smiles! Our end of the year adventure to Houston was OUT OF THIS WORLD, literally!
We are so thankful for all the adventures, challenges and joys this year has brought us and for the memories we shared! Here's to an infinity and beyond more! Love you family!
