FEBRUARY 2018

This was a whirlwind of a month! We started it off right by taking a date to the Dallas Temple, love this place and the peace it brings together.  We hit a bump in the road when Jonathan literally got rammed by a deer at 6am, just as he and Mitchell were finishing a hunting trip near Temple, TX and it completely totalled our family van.  We were so sad to see it go and it brought on a real challenge for us, as we could not go anywhere with all of us together.  Jon was getting rides to church by fellow ward council members and I would have to bring Katelyn to her friend Hailey M.'s anytime we went to go look at another van (sadly, they were all so very far away).  Finally, after about a month of searching....and the challenges that came with that....we were able to find our Expedition, which could tow our boat and fit all of us again! Woo hoo!

We also had several field trips this month with our Classical Convections Homeschool Group, including a trip to Safety Town to learn about proper bicycle and emergency situation skills and appropriate behavior, a field trip to the Dallas Fair Park Aquarium (always one of my favorite places to go on the earth because I am completely fascinated by marine life and anything to do with the ocean, especially bat rays---my all time favorite since feeding them after hours when we were members of the Monterey Bay Aquarium when I was in the 6th-10th grades), and The Musuem of Flight near the Dallas Love Field.  The older kids got to see a live presentation from "Amelia Earheart" and we got to see the command module for the Apollo 7 space flight, along with many other cool jets, engines and model airplanes!! Such a fun and insightful month of learning and fun sibling down time!! I also loved the spiritual thoughts and scriptures that especially stood out to me, which I captured on my phone to document.  They are so true and life changing.  I know repentance is a gift and allows us to draw closer to our Savior every day if we allow the Atonement to become an active strengthening power in our lives each day.  Love this pack of ours and the memories we get to make together and cherish forever.  <3
