More Washington Summer Adventures! 2016

We shared so many special memories with family over the summer! Here are some of the highlights we captured on camera!! The kids loved shooting BB guns in the backyard with Uncle Ben in addition to playing with him in the backyard pool!!  We had a super fun time going to the nearby Childrens Museum in Tacoma with extended family cousins and playing at a tide-pool afterwards for lunch along the coast.  It was breathtakingly beautiful.  We had so much fun searching for crabs hiding under the rocks, finding and holding them, and I got to teach my kiddos about how barnacles work!! What fun memories to treasure!
We all were so excited halfway through July when we had a much anticipated visit from Daddy too, ventured to the Woodland Park Zoo with cousins and spenttime at the beach together!! Love these summer memories!!!

We were so thankful Daddy got to come visit us halfway through our WA trip! He was a heaven-sent blessing for me! He definitely is my other half, everything in life is better with him by my side, and I sure love and him and his companionship in my life! Hooray for a date night to the new Cafe Rio and getting to plan and re-focus our family goals and life-planning together.  Sure love this wonderful man.  :) He is so good to me and our sweet family.  The kids love him over the moon, he is their funnest play friend and keeps us all on track!! Love him so much!

While Daddy visited, we went to the Rec Center and had a blast with everyone, including Daddy, and Ben & Carli too!

Grandpa is so much fun!! Daddy and Uncle Ben had a showdown of the century off the diving board, that was for sure!!! Look at that sweet air Daddy got!!! Wish I could have joined the competition, but they were sure springing to some seriously amazing heights on those dives!! Go Daddy and Uncle Ben!!  We were so proud of Katelyn being so brave to be jumping off the diving board too!! Sure love diving board excitement!

These kiddos having a blast!!

Joshy and I hanging out enjoying the fun times watching the people we love play hard and have a splashing fun time!!  Since I had just had surgery to remove some moderately risky skin cells, it was a blessing to be around the support and help of family, but it meant I couldn't be in water and had to take it easy for a little while. So many mixed emotions came with that experience and ultimately, I realized I had to have faith in my Heavenly Father and put my trust and life in the Lord's hands and know that all things are in His hands and regardless of what the future holds, I will remain faithful and true! I sure love my family and am so glad for the support they provided during that challenging and faith-testing and stretching time. :)
Nathan taking a few shots, startin' young at 5 years old to hone those basketball skills like Daddy and Grandpa Gary! Go Nathan! Go!

Then, the next week, for Emeri's 4th birthday, we ventured up to the Woodland Park Zoo in a more Northern part of WA on July 26, 2016 to see some new animals and try out a new experience for the kids! Here are some highlights:

We saw owls, brown bears, birds, polar bears, gorillas, snakes, and even a tapir!! (Never seen this creature before, but it's sort of like a cross bewteen an elephant, pig and a cow....haha...its was huge and had the strangest elongated snout! The plaque said its closest relative was the horse, haha...pretty crazy.. and it galloped across the land. What an interesting creature!  THe best sights around BY FAR were the smiles of these kiddos faces in the caves and tunnels, enjoying times with their cousins! Love these kiddos so much!

 Joshua-9 mo, Nathan-5, Gracie-3, Katelyn-7 :)

Woah, look a tapir!!

Here is a Komodo Dragon! One of the world's largest lizards! Crazy cool huh!

Love these girly cousins!

Katelyn is by far one of the greatest tree-climbers/enthusiasts, monkeys around!! She is fearless when it comes to climbing and takes on any tree like its a piece of cake! Such a strong and brave girl!

We got home just in time from the zoo for pizza and a delicious fancy cake from a local cake shop! The kids sure thought it was the best! Happy 4th birthday to Miss Emeri. :)

A couple days later, on July 28th, we celebrated Samuel's birthday too!! The BIG 16!!! WOO HOOO Samuel!! How on earth are you growing up so fast!! Remember how he was just 5 years old reciting silly movie line quotes likes Tow-Mater, and Stellaaaaah!! Love this Uncle Samuel of ours!! Happy Birthday buddy!

We enjoyed spending more time with Ben and getting to know his sweet new bride Carli! :)

Even Josh lit up with happy smiles! Good job Uncle Ben for tickling 'em out!

Our last night in WA, Katelyn decided to give Joshua an honorary ride around in the over-sized storage bin, a.k.a. the kids very own invented theme park ride upstairs....haha...love their creativity! Love how they play together! Love WA memories at grandpa and grandmas!

We also ventured out to Dash Point Beach to enjoy some beach time with family before our WA adventures came to a close.  They loved digging in the dirt, searching for seashells, and EVEN finding some sand dollars too!! I was such a proud momma! Love the ocean, love sea creatures, and love sharing this fascination and excitement with my little sweethearts!! :)

Being outside and playing with these sweet people is one of my most favorite things! I love being a mom and getting to watch them learn and grow and have fun together.  SO glad to have Aunt Carli and Aunt BEka along for the adventure! Love family time!
