September Days to remember include lemonade stands at the park....hanging upside down, campfire with s'mores in the backyard, and Daddy heading out with the ward and some youth to take part in a Mormon Helping Hands Service Effort to help the recent Baton Rouge Louisiana flood victims. It was such a humbling, strengthening, special and worthwhile trip. I am so thankful my husband was able to get service time off from work to make the trip, what a huge blessing. It was a quick call to serve, but I am so glad he did it and for the videos and pictures the group shared afterwards, to hear how thankful the people were and to see how happy they could be even after they just lost nearly everything, because truly the things that matter most in life are just not things. :) He also ran into his cousin, Micah, who was serving his mission in Baton Rouge at the same time! What a sweet blessing and joy to see him in his time of faithul missionary service and get to hear from Elder Nelson speak at a regional conference on Sunday. Loved that he could have that experience and love these smiles!
