We were so glad we also had the chance to go to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium with entended family cousins while we were in Washington! (We got to see Brandon & Demarae with their sweet kiddos AND meet their newest addition, Miss Penny for the first time! She is such a little darling!!) So fun to catch up like we didn't miss a beat from our old Cali days together and find a way to fight being drenched by the rain, by going inside the elephant sleeping facility together haha....so educational and a totally new experience for us all!! Lots of memories we won't want to forget!! Jonathan's Uncle Brian & Aunt Ruth also came along, and we were so glad we could experience this together. :)
My little buddy, who gives me lots of weight training practice. I sure love having this snuggly bugly bear by my side!
Manatees!!! One of them is even blind, but since she has been here so long, she knows her way around and carries on with life anyways. It was neat to see these beautiful creatures!
Gracie and Brooks. THey were like two peas in a pod, he was so kind and considerate of her and just wanted to explore and check things out along her side. She was gracious and happy to have another friend to play, explore and giggle with :)
Katelyn being such a great big sister! Love her willingness to take Josh around be his helper pal! Look at those brave, strong and talented climbers!! Petting zoo fun!
My favorite part, and Katelyn's too!! The sting ray touch pool! I was so excited that we were allowed to touch them! They are so silky and rubbery firm but smooth, what neat creatures and loved sharing my special ocean love with my little loves!
Shark-time!! Beware! AND They have such an extensive touch pool here!! It was almost as good as the Monterey Bay Aquarium!! THey had sea cucumbers, anenomes, hermit crabs, gumboot chitons, leather stars, and urchins! What a fun glimpse into the rocky shores world! (Bring me back to my old college days when Jonathan and I were engaged, and I spent the semester at the OIMB (Oregon Institute of Marine Biology) studying Maribe Invertabrate Biology, Ecology and Reproductive Development! Just loved sharing this special interest of mine with our little ones! They sure loved touching all these creatures too!
Open wide!
Loved these smiles! Loved teaching about some of Heavenly Father's creations that I enjoy learning about the most! Science and Biology truly enhance and only bring greater depth and appreciation for me of the beauty of God's creations and the love He has for each of us in allowing us to learn and take in all these wonderful creations around us! Love our sweet kiddos and learning together!
